# Guides

> Long-form articles and tutorials on LSL scripting, from a first script to working with link numbers, texture coordinates and rotations.

Guides are longer articles and tutorials that explain a topic and build up working code. For short
how-tos that do one task, see [Recipes](/recipes/); for the language itself, see
[Fundamentals](/fundamentals/).

- [Learn LSL](/guides/learn-lsl/): a path into Second Life scripting, from the first script to
  useful interactions.
- [Working with link numbers](/guides/link-numbers/): find prims by name in your own linkset or
another object, and keep a pool of reusable prims in linkset data.
- [Texture coordinates](/guides/texture-coordinates/): turn pixel positions in a texture atlas or
spritesheet into `PRIM_TEXTURE` repeats and offsets.
- [Constraining rotations](/guides/constraining-rotations/): keep only the yaw of a rotation or
remove its roll; [Turret rotation](/guides/constraining-rotations/turret/) applies them in a
  complete turret script.
- [Interpolation and easing](/guides/interpolation/): rescale between ranges, interpolate floats,
vectors and rotations, and step values towards a target.
