Types
The seven types, with the first line of each description from the LSL definitions and the examples from the wiki’s types overview:

string | "Hello, world!" | Text data. |

vector | <1.0, 2.0, 3.0> | A vector is a data type that contains a set of three float values. |
rotation | <0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0> | Rotation type is one of several ways to represent an orientation in 3D. |
list | [42, 3.14159, "value"] | A collection of other data types. |
From the wiki on pass-by-value: “LSL as a language uses pass‑by‑value for all types.” and “Built in functions will never modify the variables used as parameters.”
Typecasting is written (type), for example string message = "The result is:" + (string)result; (from the operators table).
